COVID-19 Update

Dear Forrest Hill Parents and Whanau,

Today, I write to inform you of the decision by the Prime Minister to close all New Zealand schools as we move into our Level 4 nationwide response to COVID-19. I welcome this decision and believe it critical that we prioritise the health of our community at this challenging time. No students will be onsite from tomorrow.

Over the next few days we will be in contact to outline what learning will be like for your students.

You can help your sons and daughters by keeping calm and explaining the situation carefully in their words they can relate to.

Forrest Hill School will continue to work with directives from the Ministry of Education to ensure we are providing the best possible education to our students.
We will evaluate the situation on an ongoing basis and provide regular updates as we receive additional information.

Support will be available for the families of identified essential workers as advised by central agencies.  Only students of essential worker families are to come to School tomorrow morning, for these students school will be open for supervised study from 8:45 to 2:50 in the next two days.

If you have any specific concerns about COVID-19, contact your GP or the 24-hour COVID-19 health line number – 0800 358 5453.  You can also visit the COVID-1 pages at www.arphs.health.nz or https://www.health.govt.nz/

My thanks for your support in these extraordinary circumstances.
