Term 3 2010
Firstly, a warm welcome back to another term at Forrest Hill School. Welcome to all of our new families, we hope you have settled in and are enjoying school.
Year 6 Camp
Camp is drawing near (31st August)...cross your fingers that the weather is beautiful and the rain holds off. Please check any notices that come home from school, there will be many in the next few weeks in relation to equipment lists etc.
Homework
Please encourage your child to complete their homework each night. Homework consolidates numeracy and literacy learning from school. In addition to set homework, board and card games will reinforce mathematical basic facts. Reading a range of books will assist your child’s understanding and help to build their vocabulary.
Brainfood Break
Each morning at 10 o’clock we have a short break where children have a quick drink of water and a bite to eat. It is important that this food is nutritious and ‘good for the brain’, which means food low in sugar and fat.
Open Door Policy
If you have any questions or concerns you are always welcome to pop in and see your child’s teacher. Please be aware due to the nature of some concerns or scheduled staff meetings a subsequent appointment may need to be made.
