Chelsea Cup kicks off today. Check it out: Chelsea Cup
Saturday 28th Feb 2010
Over the last few years soccer at our school has grown from strength to strength. Our children continue to show great interest in playing soccer.
This term we have been given the go ahead to purchase four new soccer goals. This are small and portable goal like the ones WYNRS use.
My intention is to use these for the Chelsea Cup competition.
The Chelsea Cup started in 2007. The competition involves boys and girls from Year 3 to Year 6. The teams are 4 aside with one reserve and consist of children from a mixture of age groups. The teams are chosen by drawing names out of a hat. The team captains will be Year 6 players. It's a knock out competition and there is a cup for the winning team.
Currently we have WYNRS operating after school on a Monday. Check the WYNRS page for details. Unfortunately our WYNRS academy group is not running this term.
United Soccer 1 are not doing lunchtime soccer this term, however I anticipate this starting up again next term. We have enjoyed having United Soccer 1 coaches at our school for many years.
Something new! Last week the Brazil Soccer Academy visited our school. They gave a demonstration of Futsal and involved many of our students in games on the court. It was great fun to play and watch. They are hoping to start here at Forrest Hill School using our hall. Keep an eye on the newsletter and website for more information.
