Garden to Table Volunteers
Our Garden to Table is now 6 months on and proving to be a huge success with our Year 5 students. As well as learning gardening and kitchen skills, students learn through the New Zealand Key Competencies which are; Thinking, Managing Self, Relating to Others, Participating and Contributing and Using Language, Symbols, and Texts.
The success of the programme relies on volunteers to supervise small groups of 4-5 students in either the garden or kitchen.
Currently two of our regular volunteers are no longer available to help and we urgently need to replace them.
Volunteers could be family members including grandparents, friends, neighbours or parents who can organise one morning from work to assist us. People can help once or more often according to circumstances. Volunteers have an enjoyable and positive experience.
Please contact your child’s teacher, the school office 094108939 or email Angela White firstname.lastname@example.org if you or someone you know can make themselves available to help.
The programme operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9.00am – 10.45am
