Join the Forrest Hill PTA and help make it happen for your school!
The Forrest Hill School PTA is made up of a group of school parents who have come together to support our children’s education. We are the link to the teachers and staff, providing a means for parents and the school to build a successful partnership based on the best interests of our children.
We meet once a month, and our role is to help raise much needed extra funds for the school, to organise social events for the pupils and parents, and to help wherever we are able to within the school community. New members are always welcome. Feel free to talk to any of the members if you are interested in being involved!
Together we help the school raise extra funding for things not directly funded by Board of Trustees or the Ministry of Education. Over the years this has included the following:
Forrest Hill School LED Sign $13,500
Wet day games for all classrooms $4,700
Pigtails for Cross Country & Fun Run $360
Garden to Table set up $6,700
Year 5 Camps $2,000 per year
Year 6 Camps $2,000 per year
Year 6 Graduation meal each year
Yummy Apple Sticker sports gear (2015 $1,000, 2016 $1,300)
$20,000 towards the Tiger Turf for the netball courts
Tiger Turf by rooms 7 & 8
Kicking Wall $10,000
Student Council Sign $2,000
We run the following school fundraisers to raise money:
Adidas School Fun Run (Term 1)
Discos for juniors and seniors (Term 2 & 4)
Family Movies (Term 2)
Athons – Factathon, Readathon (Term 3)
Calendar Art (Term 3)
Christmas on the Field Raffle (Term 4)
Yummy Apple Stickers
Bakers Delight Dough Raiser
Second Hand Uniform Shop
These are usually held the first Tuesday of the month. All parents and caregivers are welcome to attend. During these meetings we organise any upcoming activities for the term.
Planning Meeting – This is held in November where we review all our current fundraisers and decide which ones to continue with, or any new ones to add. The timetable of events for the following year is set during this meeting.
Annual General Meeting (AGM) – This is held at the start of the new school year. This is when our elections are held for our committee.
